Women's Basketball Picked to Finish Eighth in Preseason Poll
Mars Hill was chosen to finish in eighth place in the women's basketball preseason coaches' poll
ROCK HILL, S.C.- The Mars Hill women's basketball team has been picked to finish in eighth place in the South Atlantic Conference preseason poll, released Tuesday morning.
In a vote conducted by the league's coaches, the Lions finished with 60 points, trailing seventh place Lincoln Memorial (78 points) and ahead of ninth place Coker (43).
Defending champion Anderson was chosen to repeat as the Trojans recorded 117 points. Wingate and Catawba each recorded 112 points to finish in a tie for second place.
Mars Hill went 11-17 in 2014-15 with an eighth place finish in the SAC thanks to a 9-13 league record. The Lions begin the 2015-16 campaign on Friday, November 13 against King in the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge in Greeneville, Tenn. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
