MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill women's basketball team will take part in the Play4Kay initiative on Saturday, February 20 against Coker.
The 2016 Play4Kay initiative is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise awareness and funds for women's cancer research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has helped the Kay Yow Cancer Fund support $5.18 million in women's cancer research and related projects.
Mars Hill students, community members and supporters have several opportunities to participate in and donate to the Play4Kay initiative. Donations can also be made directly to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund online by clicking here.
Over the past two years the Lions have raised over $1,700 and the goal is to add more to that this season. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to show support for the initiative. The contest against the Cobras is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
