Bradford records career-high versus No. 16 Anderson

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's basketball team (1-23, 0-19 SAC) fell to No. 16 Anderson (25-2, 19-0 SAC) inside Stanford Arena in the final home contest of the 2018-19 season by a score of 89-58 Wednesday evening.
The Trojans dominated the early portion of the first half, opening the contest on a 25-0 run. Both Alexy Mollenhauer and Cassie Ketchum recorded nine points each, hitting three three-pointers. Ace Easter added six off of two three-pointers. Jewel Walston put the Lions on the board with just over three minutes remaining in the stanza and scored four straight points. In the final three minutes of the frame, the Lions outscored Anderson 9-6.
In a tighter contested second quarter, the Lions pulled within 19 with 3:48 left in the half following a Mariah Johnson jumper. The Trojans closed out the half on a 6-3 run to enter the half up 49-25.
Mollenhauer led all players with 12 points in the half while pulling down eight rebounds. Walston led the Lions with six points, followed by Fajhenee Bradford's five.
The third quarter saw the teams combine for 46 points. Mollenhauer scored 13 in the frame to lead all players and help Anderson carry a 73-47 lead into the final frame. Baylea Loven scored eight points for Mars Hill while Bradford and Johnson each added five.
Anderson opened the final quarter on a 7-0 run to hold a 33-point lead. Outscoring Mars Hill 16-11 in the fourth, with less than a minute remaining, the Trojans built their largest lead of the night, going up by 35 with 52 seconds left in the contest.
Mollenhauer ended the night with 30 points and 17 rebounds to lead all players. Easter added 12 on the night.
Bradford set a career-high, scoring 18 points and going 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Johnson added nine.
The Lions wrap up the regular season on Saturday, March 2nd with a contest versus the Royals of Queens University. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
