Gillie named to All-SAC Freshman Team

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill's Maddie Gillie was selected to the 2022 All-South Atlantic Conference Freshman Team as released by the league Thursday morning.

Gillie, a native of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, averaged 12.4 points per game in 25 games during her first season, placing 19th overall in the league and second on the team.  She shot over 33 percent from beyond the arc, the top mark for the Lions.  She averaged 26 minutes a game, second best on the team.

Her best outing of the season came on February 12 at home versus Coker when she netted 30, hitting 5-of-7 three-pointers and 11-of-12 free throws.
