Mars Hill in 13th after First Round in Myrtle Beach

SUNSET BEACH, N.C.-- The Mars Hill women's golf team is in 13th place after the first round of the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, which was played Monday.

The Lions shot a 55-over 343. Jacqueline McCormick carded the team's best score of the day with a six-over 78 to finish tied for 17th. Saint Leo finished three-over par to lead the team competition.

Jillian Corum of Tusculum, Virginia Lane of Mount Olive and Lauren Petty of St. Leo tied for the individual lead with an even 72.

Play concludes at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate tomorrow.
