Lions Place Eighth at SAC Championship

SEVIERVILLE, TENN.-- The Mars Hill women's golf team placed eighth in the South Atlantic Conference Championship, which concluded Tuesday.

The Lions totaled a three-day score of 1143 (+279). Jacqueline McCormick carded Mars Hill's best score with a 279 over the course of the tournament. McCormick's 89 in the second round accounted for her best score. The tournament was held on the par-72 Highlands Course at the Sevierville Golf Club.

Newberry was the SAC Tournament Champion with a three-day total of 962. Barbara Castro's 16-over 232 paced the Wolves to the championship and was good enough for Castro to win the individual championship.
