Lions Place 9th at Fall Classic

GREENEVILLE, TENN.-- Mars Hill's women's golf team placed ninth in the Tusculum Fall Classic, which wrapped up Tuesday at Link Hills Golf Club.

The Lions carded a score of 354 in round two to bring their two-day total to 678. Jacqueline McCormick led MHU with a score of 162, including a 77 in round one. UNC Pembroke took home the team championship with a score of 607. Elizabeth Swallow of King (Tenn.) fired an even-par 71 in the second round to earn individual medalist honors.

Victoria Barrett shot a 79 in the first round to finish second among Lion golfers. Sarah Johnson and Katherine Lail rounded out Mars Hill's point earners.

Mars Hill will compete in the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, which begins Oct. 6 in Sunset Beach, N.C.
