Women's Golf in 10th Following Opening Round of SAC Championship

SEVIERVILLE, TENN. - Freshman Emma Lundvall led the Mars Hill women's golf team in the opening round of the South Atlantic Conference women's golf tournament at the par-72, 6,006 Sevierville Golf Club River Course.

Lundvall fired an eight-over-par 80 and is tied for 11th place. Sarah Johnson shot an 86, followed by Victoria Barrett with a 91. Lindsey Ball finished the first round with a 100, with Raven Brown posting a 103. Mars Hill is tenth in the team standings with a 357, four shots behind ninth place Anderson.

Newberry's Karly Mims and Queens University's Grace Glace are tied for first place after a two-over-par 74. Newberry leads the team standings by six shots over Wingate with a 310.

The tournament continues with Monday's second round.
