Women's Golf Completes Opening Round of Etowah Intercollegiate

ETOWAH, N.C.- The Mars Hill women's golf team began the 2015-16 season on Monday at the Etowah Intercollegiate held at the par-72 Etowah Valley Country Club.

Emma Lundvall is tied for sixth place after an opening round 80. Raven Brown shot an 88 and is tied for 25th. In her Mars Hill debut, Marie Syvertsen finished with an 89 and is tied for 27th. Lindsey Ball finished with a 96. Courtney Jo Simpkins and Katie Stroupe completed the first round as individuals.

As a team, Mars Hill finished with an opening round 353 in seventh place and just one stroke behind tournament host Brevard. The tournament concludes on Tuesday with the final round beginning around 8:30 a.m.
