Lions In Tenth After Day One of SAC Championship
MONROE, N.C. – The Mars Hill women’s golf team traveled to the Monroe Country Club to participate in the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Women’s Championship.
MONROE, N.C. – The Mars Hill women's golf team traveled to the Monroe Country Club to participate in the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Women's Championship. After the first of three rounds the Lions find themselves in 10th place overall with a combined team score of 352 (+64).
Emma Lundvall paced the Blue and Gold on the afternoon with a first-round score of 83 (+11), good for a tie for 26th place, including three birdies. She will tee off tomorrow in group three at 8:48 a.m.
Victoria Barrett fired an opening round of 89 (+17) to sit in 52nd place, while Marie Syvertsen and Raven Brown posted first-round scores of 90 (+18), sitting one spot behind Barrett in 53rd. Sarah Johnson rounded out the golfers for Mars Hill with a 99 (+27).
Lincoln Memorial and Carson-Newman sit atop the leaderboard after day one, both shooting combined team scores of 312 (+24), while the Eagles' Taylor Hayes posted an even-par 72 to lead all golfers on the day.
The tournament will continue tomorrow morning before concluding on Tuesday afternoon.
