The Mars Hill women's golf team finished day one of the Mars Hill University Spring Invitational on Monday afternoon in third place.

FLETCHER, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's golf team finished day one of the Mars Hill University Spring Invitational on Monday afternoon in third place.

Emilee Wenmoth was the top finisher for the Lions, ending the day in sixth place overall with a +12 round. Marie Syvertsen finished two strokes behind, good for eighth overall.

Janie Gooch placed 14th with a +18 round. Jasmine Chesnut and Courtney Jo Simpkins rounded the Lions roster with a 26th and 31st place standing after day one.
