Lions finish day one of Sunoco Campbell Oil Classic in 11th place

WALLACE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's golf team sits in 11th place after the first two rounds of the Sunoco Campbell Oil Classic on Monday afternoon.
Emilee Wenmoth was the top placing Lion, shooting 86 in both rounds. The +28 score has Wenmoth in the 43rd position.
Janie Gooch shot an opening round 90 to finish tied for 50th. Despite shaving two strokes in round two, Gooch fell to 53rd on the afternoon.
Marie Syvertsen and Jasmine Chesnut finished the day with scores of +48 and +49, respectively, to place 56th and 58th after day one.
The Lions trail Southern New Hampshire by seven strokes for 10th place.
Mars Hill concludes the Sunoco Campbell Oil Classic on Tuesday afternoon.
