The Mars Hill women's golf team opened up first round action of the 2019 South Atlantic Conference Championships Sunday afternoon.

HICKORY, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's golf team opened up first round action of the 2019 South Atlantic Conference Championships Sunday afternoon.

Janie Gooch shot an opening round 82 to sit in 40th at the end of round one.  Emilee Wenmoth placed 43rd overall, shooting 83 on the day.

Shooting 84 on the day, Marie Syvertsen ended the day in 45th.  Rounding out the Lions team was Linnea Karlsson and Jasmine Chesnut with 51st and 54th place finishes, respectively.

The Lions ended the day in 11th heading into the second round.
