The Mars Hill women's golf team opened play at the Battle for Royalty Invitation at TPC Piper Glen Monday afternoon.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's golf team opened play at the Battle for Royalty Invitation at TPC Piper Glen Monday afternoon.

Jordan Martindale shot a first-round 83, good for a 12th place finish at the end of the first round.  Emilee Wenmoth shot one stroke higher, placing 18th on the day.

Jasmine Chesnut placed 34th, shooting a first-round 92 while Leann Crotts ended the day in 37th.
