Foust records five points versus Battlers

PHILIPPI, W.V. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (3-3) fell to Alderosn Broaddus (1-7) by a score of 18-11 in non-conference play Tuesday afternoon.
Mars Hill fell behind 3-0 in the opening 4:54 of the contest before rallying to score three straight of their own to tie the game with 20:11 left in the first half. Victoria Eckard, Kiersten Foust and Maria Fabrizio each scored in the run.
The Battlers reeled off four straight and ended the frame scoring six of the final eight goals of the frame to enter the second half up 9-5 over the Lions. Allison Rogers scored twice in the run while Haley Frost added a goal and an assist. Fabrizio and Molly Tobias scored the final two goals of the first for Mars Hill.
Off of Foust's second goal of the contest, the Lions pulled within three, 11-8, before Alderson Braoddus scored three straight goals to establish a six-goal advantage with 14:01 left in the game. With goals from Foust, Eckard and Tobias, the Lions clawed back within three, but four straight Battlers' goals pushed Alderson Broaddus to their first win of the season.
Brooke Dinehart (4g, 1a) and Shea Lee Robin (1g, 4 a) led the Battlers with five points apiece. Foust and Eckard each recorded hat-tricks for the Lions while Foust added two assists to lead Mars Hill with five points.
Haley Matul picked up the win, making 10 saves in the contest. Alexa Holleran stopped 14 shots in the loss.
Mars Hill returns to action with a non-conference road contest versus Davis & Elkins on Thursday, March 14th at 4 p.m.
