MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (4-9, 1-5 SAC) was defeated at the hands of No. 14 Queens (11-2, 6-0 SAC) Saturday afternoon inside the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium by a score of 24-2.
The Royals opened the contest by scoring 13 straight goals. Rachel Perrett scored four in the run while Ally Blood, Kyleigh Masteran and Kara Blanchard each scored twice. Maria Fabrizio scored the two Lions' first half goals, back-to-back, later in the half before the Royals tacked on one more in the final 1:38 to end the first 30 minutes of play up 14-2.
Queens continued to add to their lead, scoring 10 unanswered goals. Sydney Bracken, Hanna Scott and Katie Wardle each scored twice.
Mars Hill wraps up their 2019 road schedule with a contest at Lenoir-Rhyne on Sunday, April 14th. First draw is scheduled for 3 p.m.
