Women’s Soccer Loses to Montreat

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Lions' women's soccer squad lost to non-conference rival Montreat College, 1-0 Wednesday night in the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium. Mars Hill fell to 4-7 on the year while the Cavaliers improved to 9-1-1 on the season.
Chloe McCleary-Small scored at the 19:23 mark on a through ball from Hannah Madsen. That was all the scoring the match would see.
MHC outshot the Cavaliers, 16-8. The Lions edged Montreat in corner kicks, 7-5. Corrine Roberts played the entire match in goal for MHC and made two saves. Caroline Mellard also played 90 minutes in the net for Montreat and made six saves.
MHC will play at Anderson University on October 6. Match time is slated for 1 p.m.
