MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill women's soccer team began practice earlier this week in preparation for the upcoming season under sixth-year head coach Ken Miller.
The Lions completed their third preseason practice early Friday morning.
"The first two practices were spent working on fitness levels, getting the girls back in a playing mindset and getting them to play together," said Miller. "This morning we worked on linking target play. This involves incorporating our forwards into our offensive attack and how we play with them as the first option."
Mars Hill will continue two-a-days until Sunday, with an inter-squad scrimmage to close out the weekend practice slate. The Lions will host Montreat in a scrimmage on Tuesday evening with a road scrimmage against Pfeiffer next Saturday. A contest at NCAA Division I UNC Asheville on Sunday, August 31 opens the season, with the home opener occurring on Thursday, September 4 at 7 p.m. against Shorter.
