DUE WEST, S.C. – Mars Hill battled Erskine College to a double-overtime scoreless draw at Huggins Field Monday night in women's soccer action. The Lions took their season record to 0-12-1 while the Flying Fleet are now 2-8-1 overall.
The Lions out shot Erskine, 20-10 but could not capitalize on their attempts. Mars Hill also held a 10-0 advantage on corner kicks while offsides calls went 3-1 in favor for the home team.
Maslyn Green played all 110 minutes in goal for MHU and made five saves. Megan Stabile and Hannah Russell led the Lions' offense with five and two shots on goal attempted for the Lions, respectively. Ashton Burgess also played the entire match in the net for the Flying Fleet and made 11 saves.
Mars Hill will host SAC foe Queens on Saturday, October 18. Match time is set for a 3:30 p.m. start.
