HICKORY. N.C. – Mars Hill lost to Lenoir-Rhyne, 9-0 in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action Wednesday night at the Moretz Sports Athletic Complex. The Lions fell to 2-9 overall and 1-5 in the SAC. The Bears improved to 7-4 on the year, 4-2 in the league.
The Bears jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first half behind 13 shots and three corner kicks. Lenoir-Rhyne added a single goal in the second half to make the final score 9-0.
Lenoir-Rhyne outshot the Lions, 21-1 in the contest. Mars Hill's keepers had five saves while the Bears had one.
Mars Hill will play at Queens on Saturday, October 10. Match time is slated for a 5 p.m. start.
