SALISBURY, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (3-5-1, 0-4-1 SAC) was defeated by No. 9 Catawba (11-0-1, 5-0-1 SAC) by a score of 2-0 Saturday evening.
Catawba scored both goals in the second half, nearly 10 minutes apart from one another.
Karen Juarez opened the scoring in the 62nd minute with her second of the season followed by Kelly Havens' marker in the 72nd minute, her third of the campaign.
The Lions were outshot 24-1 with Zoie Steinkamp attempting the Lions' lone shot. Mars Hill's Camryn Miller made 10 saves on the night.
Mars Hill returns home to Meares Stadium on Wednesday, October 5 when they face Lincoln Memorial. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
