HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (1-9, 0-7 SAC) was defeated by Lincoln Memorial (6-4-3, 2-3-2 SAC) on the road by a score of 5-0.
The Railsplitters struck in the eighth minute to open the scoring. In the 26th minute, Maiara Windszus Pessanha scored her first of two goals on the evening.
LMU tallied three more in the second half to runaway with the contest. Ellie Snyder collected three assists in the 5-0 win.
Mia Calderon and Samantha Swinson led the Lions with two shots apiece.
Mars Hill returns home on Wednesday, October 22 when they resume the previously postponed game from September 19 versus Anderson. Play will continue from the 40:26 mark of the first half. The game was scoreless before the lightning delays rolled in.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. inside the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.
