Women’s Swimming Loses to L-R<br><i>Watch Butler postmeet interview</i>
Lions Celebrate Senior Day
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Lions' swimming teams lost a dual meet to the visiting Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne University, Saturday afternoon at Harrell Pool. Before the meet, Mars Hill recognized their nine senior swimmers.
Brittany Butler, Nikki Holt, Katie James, Alexis Myers, Lena Palo, Miranda Reasoner, Kelsey Steele, Mike Wilkes and P.J. Maloney competed in their last home meet for the Lions this afternoon.
The men lost to the Bears by a score of 135-125 and the women fell to L-R, 139-117. The men's meet was very close and the winner was decided in the last race of the event.
The following swimmers won events for the Lions. Leading the way for the women's team was Nicole Day who won three events. Miranda Schmidt, Maggie Mills, Taylor Bugg, Rachel Louviaux, and Lena Palo all had one victory in the meet. The men had three swimmers with three victories each. Those swimmers were Hudson Tucker, Audley Elder and Tyler Treadway. Mike Wilkes had two wins in the meet.
The next meet for the Lions is in Charlotte, N.C., on November 19-20 at the Wingate University Fall Frenzy. The meet will be held at the Mecklenburg Aquatic center.
