Women's Swimming Adds Two Swimmers for 2014-15

MARS HILL, N.C. – The Lions women's swimming team has announced the signing of two additions for the 2014-15 season. Abby Harty and Maggie Norton both committed to compete at Mars Hill, head coach Teddy Guyer announced today.

Harty is from Johns Creek, Ga., where she attended Johns Creek High School. She is a nationally ranked swimmer and has qualified every year for the Georgia High School State Swim Meet. She is an honors student and has received numerous academic and athletic awards. Harty's high school coach is Susan Lipscomb and she swims for Dynamo Swim Club under the direction of Tripp and Michael Kirkpatrick.

Norton is from Richmond Hill, Ga., where she attended Saint Vincent Academy. Maggie is the Captain of her high school team and is also a Georgia High School State Swim Meet qualifier. She is an honors student and member of the National Honors Society. Norton's high school coach is Dana Elkins and she swims for Georgia Coastal Aquatic Team under the direction of Bill Forester.

Coach Guyer stated, "I expect Abby and Maggie to hopefully step in next year and help us immediately. They are great swimmers and students and I am happy they chose Mars Hill."
