MARS HILL, N.C.- Mars Hill freshman JJ Washshah has been named the Appalachian Swimming Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, league officials announced today. It is the first weekly honor for Washshah this season.

Washshah won three races in the season-opening meet against Warren Wilson this past Friday night. She won the 50 Freestyle in 26.44 seconds, the 100 Freestyle in 56.45 and the 50 Backstroke in 28.97 while also swimming the opening leg for the 200 Freestyle Relay team.

Mars Hill will travel to Lenoir-Rhyne next Friday for a dual meet beginning at 6 p.m.
