Women's Swimming Competes In Opening Day of ASC Conference Meet

CHRISTIANSBURG, VA. – After day one of the ASC Conference Meet, the Mars Hill Lions women's swim team finds themselves in fifth place.

Kathryn Boland had the best finish of the day for all the Lions swimmers as she was able to tally a fourth place finish in the 200 Individual Medley, finishing in a time of 2:13.00.

Abby Harty and Elle Grier were able to take fifth and eighth places, respectively in the 500 free. Harty touched the wall in 5:14.09 while Grier was right behind her with a 5:17. 47.

The 200 free relay team of JJ Washshah, Elle Grier, Kathryn Boland, and Rachel Nichols collected a fifth place finish with a stellar time of 1:40.93.

Washshah also finished in seventh place in the 50 free with a time of 25.11.

The team will continue in the second day of the meet on Friday before concluding on Saturday.
