HICKORY, N.C. - Mars Hill swimmer Kathryn Boland was named to the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Swimmer of the Week by the league Monday afternoon.

Boland won three individual events in the Lions' season opening meet.  She claimed victories in the 100 yard IM with a time of 1:01.85, 100 yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:09.56 and 50 yard breaststroke in 31.72. She was also part of the winning 200 yard medley relay in the Lions' wins over Lenoir-Rhyne and Pfeiffer Friday evening.

Boland's time in the 100 yard IM set a Mars Hill school record.
