Lions open Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships

The Mars Hill women's swim team opened the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships Thursday evening.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's swim team opened the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships Thursday evening.

Earning four points for the Lions, Lorna Doorman placed 13th in the 1,000 yard freestyle, turning in a time of 10:59.17.  Abbie Hinsley recorded a time of 11:33.87 for a 16th place finish, picking up an additional point for Mars Hill.

The team of Hinsley, Haley Horton, Brianna Broussard, and Ashley Hicks placed sixth in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.03.  Mars Hill garnered 26 points from the event.
