No. 38 Wingate Defeats Women's Tennis

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's tennis team lost 7-2 to No. 38 Wingate at the Hart Tennis Complex on Monday afternoon. Mars Hill falls to 6-8 overall and 4-4 in conference play, while Wingate improves to 14-4 overall and 7-0 in the league. 

Reigning SAC Player of the Week Tatiana Dualiby won her eighth straight singles match with a 6-2, 6-7, 7-5 win over Ali Evers. In the third singles flight, Anna Rickenbaker defeated Becca Thomas 6-3, 6-2. In the final match of the day, Dafna Porat lost to Sierra Parsons in a third set tiebreaker, 2-6, 6-0, 1-0 (5). 

Wingate won all three doubles matches, including a hard-fought 9-7 decision in number one doubles with Evers and Thomas topping Dualiby and Lucy McLaurin. 

Mars Hill returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Carson-Newman at 2 p.m.
