Women's Tennis Defeats North Greenville

MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill women's tennis team cruised to a 7-2 victory over North Greenville in their final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday at the Hart Tennis Complex. Mars Hill is 8-9 overall.

The Lions swept doubles play with Tatiana Dualby and Lucy McLaurin defeating Susane Lenz and Maggie Elliott 8-7 in a tiebreaker. Jade Henke and Anna Rickenbaker won 8-2 over Aline Ribeiro and Rebecca Beacham, with Dafna Porat and Grace Diepenbrock defeating Ann Hayden Huxford and Haley Hardwick 8-6.

Dualiby, McLaurin and Rickenbaker each won both of their matches on the afternoon. Dualiby won number one singles in a tiebreaker over Lenz, 2-6, 7-5, 10-5. McLaurin was a 6-3, 6-0 victor over Elliott, while Rickenbaker defeated Ribeiro by a pair of 6-2 scores. Natalie Hilbig won by a 6-3 score over Huxford in number five singles.

Mars Hill hosts Lincoln Memorial on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. with a trip to the SAC tournament on the line. Both the Lions and Railsplitters enter Friday's contest at 5-5 in the league.
