Echevarria Named To All-Conference Team

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Sophomore women's tennis player Samantha Echevarria has been named to the 2016 South Atlantic Conference All-Conference Team as announced by the league office today. Echevarria, coming back from tearing her ACL in 2015, finds her name on the second team honoree list for singles.

She took over the No.1 singles spot at the beginning of the year and compiled a 9-9 overall record, including 6-5 within conference play. Samantha ended her season winning three consecutive matches, kick started by taking a thriller from fellow second-teamer, Ali Harris of Carson-Newman. She also took a straight-set victory (7-6, 7-5) over Queen's Claudia De Andreis, who was named to the first team singles.
