Lions fall to Converse in tightly contested match
The Mars Hill women's tennis team (6-1) suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 4-3 to Converse (3-2) Thursday afternoon at the Hart Tennis Complex.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's tennis team (6-1) suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 4-3 to Converse (3-2) Thursday afternoon at the Hart Tennis Complex.
Despite winning all three doubles match to earn the 1-0 advantage, the Lions dropped four of six singles matches for their first defeat of the year. Sophia Pelaez and Kat Horner won their respective singles matches.
The match concludes the team's fall schedule. Mars Hill will next be in action on February 1st when they travel to Asheville to take on the Bulldogs. The Friday match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. first serve.
