Lions place 18th at Catamount Classic
The Mars Hill women's track and field team placed 18th at the 2018 Catamount Classic at the conclusion of day two's events on Saturday afternoon.
CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's track and field team placed 18th at the 2018 Catamount Classic at the conclusion of day two's events on Saturday afternoon.
In the 100 meter dash, Shahnika Williams placed 11th with a time of 12.56. Arriel Smith finished 17th overall in the 400 meter dash, posting a time of 1:01.63. A'Yana Dennis placed 29th with a time of 1:06.06.
Sydney Britt finished 31st in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:34.88. In the 1500 meter run, Nyla Feeney was the highest finisher for the Lions with a 29th place finish. She ran the race in 5:21.52. Rachel Strickland clocked in at 5:32.20 for a 34th place finish. Emily Wilson and Hannah Jones placed 42nd and 43rd, respectively, in the race.
Cameron Saxon finished 29th overall in the 100 meter hurdles, recording a time of 18.82. In the 4x400 meter relay race, Mars Hill placed sixth. The team of Smith, Britt, Christine Foresha and Delaney Taylor posted a time of 4:25.89.
In the pole vault, Jordan Bair recorded a mark of 3.30m (10'10"). The height was good for 10th overall.
Tiffany Holloway posted a mark of 12.42m (40'9") in the shot put for an eighth place finish. She placed 18th in the discus throw with a distance of 33.63m (110'4").
