Mars Hill finishes eighth at SAC Championships
The Mars Hill women's track and field team finished the 2018 South Atlantic Conference Championships in eighth place after the conclusion of Friday's events.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's track and field team finished the 2018 South Atlantic Conference Championships in eighth place after the conclusion of Friday's events.
The Lions entered the day with five points and ended with 20 points after the two days.
Tiffany Holloway accounted for seven of the 15 points put up by the Lions. Placing fourth in the shot put, Holloway recorded a mark of 12.33m (40'5.50") for five team points. She finished seventh in the discus throw, earning two points with a distance of 36.68m (120'4").
In the triple jump, Shaniqua Stevens earned two points with a seventh place finish. She posted a mark of 11.07m (36'4").
Stevens, along with Christine Foresha, Shahnika Williams and Arriel Smith finished seventh in the 4x100 meter relay to earn two points for the Lions. They turned in a time of 56.20.
Racing in the 4x400 meter relay, Foresha and Smith, joined by Sydney Britt and Ayana Dennis placed seventh with a time of 4:09.06, earning two more points.
Cameron Saxon, placing seventh in the heptathlon, picked up the final two points of the day for Mars Hill. She accumulated 3,222 points over the seven events.
