The Mars Hill women's track and field team opened up action at the Catamount Classic Friday afternoon.

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's track and field team opened up action at the Catamount Classic Friday afternoon.

In the long jump, Shahnika Williams placed 11th with a distance of 5.05 meters.  Lavaisiette Keller finished 12th with a mark of 5.00 meters and Shaniqua Stevens turned in a 15th place finish, posting a distance of 4.80 meters.

Emma Medlin finished 15th in the javelin with a distance of 21.74 meters.
