Mars Hill to take on Queens in SAC Tournament
Anderson won its first-ever South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship as it captured the 2017 Title. With the crown, the Trojans have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) - Anderson won its first-ever South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship as it captured the 2017 Title. With the crown, the Trojans have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon. Anderson finished the season with a 19-1 Conference record.
Wingate earned the No. 2 seed as it finished the South Atlantic Conference season with an 18-2 record. Queens is the No. 3 seed after a 14-6 South Atlantic Conference record. Carson-Newman and Tusculum turned in identical 10-10 South Atlantic Conference records. Carson-Newman broke the tie and earned the No. 4 seed with its 2-0 record vs. Coker as Tusculum went 1-1 vs. the Cobras. The Pioneers will be the No. 5 seed. Mars Hill's 9-11 SAC record was good for the No. 6 seed. Lincoln Memorial finished the season 8-12 in league action for the No. 7 seed. Coker earned the 8th and final seed following a 7-13 SAC record.
The 2017 South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship quarterfinals will be played at the highest seeds on Tuesday Nov. 14 before moving to Carson-Newman University for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 17 and 18, respectively. The South Atlantic Conference Tournament Champion receives the League's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Volleyball Championship. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
