Honeycutt selected as Southeast Region Preseason All-American
Mars Hill senior catcher Matt Honeycutt has been named a Southeast Region Preseason All-American, as announced Thursday by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
TUSCON, ARIZ. – The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper named five South Atlantic Conference baseball players Southeast Region Preseason All-Americans. An additional seven players were named region Players to Watch and six more were named region Newcomers to Watch.
Players from nine different SAC programs were among the three squads with Newberry leading the way with three players selected. Anderson, Catawba, Coker, Lenoir-Rhyne, Lincoln Memorial, Mars Hill and Wingate had two players each, while Tusculum rounded out the selections with one.
The 2019 season begins on Feb. 1.
