Reynolds homers versus Bears in series finale

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill baseball team (16-22, 4-16 SAC) fell to Lenoir-Rhyne (20-21, 7-11 SAC) at Henderson Field Sunday afternoon by a score of 7-5.
In the top of the seventh, Clayton Jeffries tied the game at four with a sacrifice fly. In the bottom of the seventh, Kameron Reynolds launched a solo home run to give the Lions the late 5-4 lead.
The Bears regained the lead for the final time as Will Jones blasted a two-run home run to left center field to go up 6-5 in the top of the eighth. In the top of the ninth, Jeffries added a solo home run in the top of the ninth.
Matthew Freeman was responsible for the first three Bears's runs of the contest. After a scoreless two innings, Freeman's sacrifice fly plated E.J. Ranel for the opening run. In the top of the fifth, Freeman's two-run single extended the Bears' lead to three.
Mars Hill took their first lead of the game in the bottom of the fifth, scoring four runs. Reynolds' RBI double plated the Lions' first run. With the bases loaded later in the frame, Matt Honeycutt's bases clearing double put Mars Hill up 4-3 after five innings played.
Will Jones led the Bears with three hits while Freeman added three RBI. Reynolds had two hits and Honeycutt led the Lions with three RBI.
The Lions host Young Harris on Wednesday, April 10th in non-conference play at Henderson Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
