Bio

Ryan Jones is entering his first season coaching college baseball. From 2015-2019, Jones has been involved with coaching Showcase Baseball Organizations (Southern Athletics, Revolution Baseball) as well as assisting at Asheville High School under Head Coach Bill Hilliard.

Jones’ college playing career began at Lenoir Rhyne University under current Middle Georgia Head Coach Paul Knight. Jones was a weekend starter freshman and sophomore year. Jones led the Bears in innings pitched and led the SAC in pickoffs as a freshman with 13. Jones played in the The Valley and Coastal Plain League under current Pitching Lab Coordinator at Wake Forest University, Evan Wise. Jones transferred after his sophomore year to Lander University to play for current Appalachian State Head Coach Kermit Smith and current Belmont Abbey Head Coach Chris Anderson.  During Jones’ senior year, the Bearcats went 52-9 in 2014, going on to win the PBC Regular Season, PBC Tourney, Southeast Regional Champions, and represented Lander in the school's first-ever College World Series Appearance. Jones posted a 10-0 record on the mound his senior season with a 3.24 ERA.

Ryan Jones is from Asheville, NC. He attended AC Reynolds High School where he played played basketball and baseball. Jones has two brothers and one sister. Carson is the current home run record holder for Lander University, Landon is a sophomore at the University of North Carolina, and sister Emma is a senior soccer and tennis player at AC Reynolds High School. Jones parents are Gary and Kelly Jones.
