Bio

Hunter Bryant was promoted to Head Baseball Coach in 2019.  Bryant came to Mars Hill University on August 1, 2016, serving as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.

Bryant is a 2015 cum laude graduate of UNC Asheville with a Bachelor's Degree in Management with a focus in Marketing.  Bryant was a four-year starter at first base for UNC Asheville and finished in the top 10 in several career categories. In his career at UNC Asheville (2011-2015), Bryant played in 199 games (starting 192), finished sixth in career at-bats, eighth in career hits, sixth in career walks, tenth in career RBI, tenth in career total bases and seventh in career doubles. Bryant was named team captain his junior and senior seasons, as well as being selected as UNC Asheville’s Male Athlete of the Year in 2015. Bryant finished his career with a .289 batting average and in his senior season he was named Second Team Big South All-Conference, First Team All-Conference by College Sports Madness, Second Team All-State by NCCSIA and First Team All-Academic by the Big South Conference. In Bryant’s Senior campaign he finished with a .340 Batting Average (10th in Big South Conference), had 72 Hits (8th in Big South Conference), 12 Homeruns (T-3rd in Big South Conference), 46 RBI (T-4th in Big South Conference), 122 Total Bases (1st in Big South Conference), a .575 Slugging percentage (3rd in Big South Conference), recorded 22 multi-hit games and 19 multi-RBI games.

Bryant spent his summers (2013 & 2014) playing for the Forest City Owls in the Coastal Plains League where in 2014 he was named to the All-Star Team. Perfect Game named him an Honorable Mention All-American during the summer of 2014.
