Cabral, Young Voted SAC Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The South Atlantic Conference Football Players of the Week have been announced for the week ending Aug. 28, 2010. Mars Hill College lineback Rudy Cabral was tabbed the SAC Defensive Player of the week, and Mars Hill wide receiver Joshua Young was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Cabral led the Lions' defense with a game high 14 tackles in the Lions 36-30 win over North Greenville Saturday. Ten of those tackles were solo stops. He added a tackle for loss. Cabral forced a fumble at the 1:44 mark in the first quarter that was returned 58 yards for a touchdown by Michael Robinson. That score later proved to be crucial to the Lions' victory.
Young found a seam on a kickoff and sprinted 90 yards for a touchdown with 49 seconds left in the first quarter to give MHC a 23-7 advantage over North Greenville Saturday afternoon. It was Young's first career kickoff return for MHC. The score later proved to be crucial as MHC defeated the Crusaders, 36-30.
