Randolph voted SAC Offensive Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - After each turning in standout performances on the final Saturday of the South Atlantic Conference football regular season, Mars Hill's Jonas Randolph, Tusculum's Terrence Smith and Newberry's Jason Livingston have been named the conference's Players of the Week. Randolph wins the award for the sixth time in 2011.
Randolph, the Offensive Player of the Week, capped a record-breaking regular season with 232 yards on Saturday against Carson-Newman as Mars Hill clinched a share of the SAC title. He averaged over seven yards per rush on 33 carries against the Eagles.
With Saturday's performance, Randolph broke the SAC single-season rushing record. His 1,970 yards in 2011 have eclipsed Carson-Newman's Kenneth Tyson's total of 1,867 set in 1987. Randolph also closed the regular season as Division II's leading rusher.
Smith was named Defensive Player of the Week, and Livingston was voted Special Teams Player of the Week.
