Randolph named SAC Offensive Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - A record-breaking rushing performance from Mars Hill's Jonas Randolph earned him South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced on Monday. The Daleville, Ala., native wins the award for the fourth time this season.
Randolph, the nation's leading rusher, finished with 331 yards on 46 carries in Mars Hill's 31-28 overtime victory at Catawba on Saturday. Both of those numbers set new Mars Hill single-game records. The 331 rushing yards were the most in Division II this season, and the third-highest total in SAC history.
Randolph's performance helped the Lions remain undefeated in the SAC and alone in the top spot of the league's standings.
Tusculum's Nick Smith received both Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week distinctions.
