Mason Honored as BSN Athlete of the Week
MARS HILL, N.C.-- Mars Hill's Jasper Mason has been named a Division II Athlete of the Week by Beyond Sports Network (BSN), which was announced Wednesday.
Mason recorded 21 tackles in the Lions' 23-20 overtime victory over Tusculum this past Saturday. The linebacker also had a sack. He is the first Lion to be recognized by BSN this season. BSN Athletes of the Week are national awards given out for the top performances in FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA.
Mason leads the Lion defense with 90 tackles this season. The junior has 5.5 tackles for loss, and has also forced and recovered a fumble. His 10 tackles per game ranks fourth in the South Atlantic Conference.

Mars Hill is off this week. The Lions will travel to Carson-Newman for their final regular-season game on Nov. 10. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
