Jon Richt Invited to Miami Dolphins Camp
MIAMI, FLA.-Former Mars Hill quarterback Jon Richt will participate in the Miami Dolphins rookie mini-camp this weekend.
Richt set Mars Hill records in completions (567), attempts (1,109), yards (8,169) and touchdown passes (69). This past season, Richt completed 200-of-386 passes for 2,936 yards and 25 touchdowns. He participated in the Raycom All-Star Classic, which featured some of college football's top seniors competing under the direction of former-NFL head coaches.
Richt is hoping to make an impression on Dolphins second-year head coach Joe Philbin and staff.
"I'm really looking forward to going out and competing with some of the best players in the country," said Richt. "I hope I'm able to show that I'm worthy of getting a chance to play in the NFL."
The three-day mini-camp is open to invited players only. Richt's performance at the camp could lead to a free-agent contract. Workouts and drills begin Friday.
Richt led the Lions to a 6-4 record this past season.
