Harris Named Preseason All-American
LEESBURG, VA.-- Mars Hill's Troy Harris has been named to the 2013 Beyond Sports Network (BSN) Preseason All-America Team, which was released Thursday.
Harris, the reigning co-South Atlantic Defensive Player of the Year, earned second-team honors from BSN. Student-athletes were chosen by the BSN staff based on awards won, statistics, video and sports information director recommendations from the 2012 season. Harris also garnered preseason All-American recognition from BSN prior to the 2012 season.

In addition to being named SAC Defensive Player of the Year last season, Harris also earned Don Hansen All-Super Region II and Daktronics All-Super Region II recognition. Harris recorded 84 tackles, 12 tackles-for-loss and five sacks as a disruptive force on the Lions defensive line.
Mars Hill finished 6-4 overall and went 5-2 in SAC play last season. The Lions finished in a three-way tie for second-place in the league with Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate.

Mars Hill will open its 2013 season when they host West Georgia on Sep. 7. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. in Meares Stadium. The Lions open SAC play Sep. 28 at Newberry.
