Football Practice Report #2

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill football team held an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday morning at the conclusion of the second week of preseason camp.
"I feel like things went well on Saturday," said head coach Tim Clifton. "We've made some improvements in certain areas but need to continue improving at practice this week."
This afternoon's practice will be when Clifton reviews Saturday's happenings in what he called "Tell the Truth Monday."
"Today at practice we'll go over what worked, how well each player performed, who worked the hardest and what they need to work on," Clifton explained. "This week we'll continue to work hard on fundamentals, competition and effort as well as start working on West Georgia."
As the season opener looms larger, effort is an area in which Clifton seeks teamwide improvement.
"We need to play with more effort and intensity," said Clifton. "Each player has different God-given abilities, but they can all give effort. In every game and practice we need to compete and give effort. If we do both of these we always have a chance to win."
Mars Hill opens the season at West Georgia on September 6.
