Holmes Named D2Football.com All-American
Dimitri Holmes was named a D2Football.com All-American on Tuesday. Holmes was selected to the first team as an all-purpose player.
LIBERTY, Mo. - Senior Dimitri Holmes was named a D2Football.com All-American on Tuesday. Holmes was selected to the first team as an all-purpose player.
Holmes adds this latest accolade to a 2014 season that saw him earn the South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, DAKTRONICS All-Region first team, Don Hansen All-Super Region Two second team and BSN All-Super Region II first team. He was a second team BSN All-American and third team Don Hansen All-American in 2013.
In 2014, Holmes caught 50 passes for 782 yards and seven touchdowns with a league-leading 78.2 average yards per game and returned 22 kickoffs for 598 yards with two touchdowns with an average of 24.5 yards per return. Holmes earned All-Conference honors in each of his four seasons with first team nods in his final three seasons. He ends his collegiate career as the South Atlantic Conference record-holder in career receptions (267) and career receiving yards (4,231).
Azusa Pacific running back Terrell Watson was named Offensive Player of the Year while CSU-Pueblo defensive end Darius Allen earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. CSU-Pueblo head coach John Wristen is the 2014 Coach of the Year.
