Lions receive vote in AFCA Coaches Poll
The Mars Hill Lions received one vote in the recent AFCA D-II College Football rankings following a dominant 40-14 victory over Shorter University.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill Lions received one vote on Monday in the recent American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) D-II College Football rankings following a dominant 40-14 victory over Shorter University.
Leading D-II ranks are Northwest Missouri State with 850 points, followed by Ferris St. (Mich.) with 799 and Texas A&M-Commerce rounding out the top three with 776 points.
The other SAC school to receive votes was Carson-Newman University. They received 19 votes.
Mars Hill will be back in action Saturday, September 9 on the road versus North Carolina A&T. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
