Thiam Ranks Among Division II Leaders
MARS HILL, N.C.-- Mars Hill's Khouraichi Thiam ranks in the top ten in all of NCAA Division II in three statistical categories.
Thiam ranks fourth in the nation in rebounds per game, grabbing 11.8 boards per contest- best in the South Atlantic Conference. The senior has notched seven double-doubles in the Lions' ten games thus far this season, which ranks sixth in the nation. Thiam also ranks tenth in Division II and second in the SAC with 2.6 blocks per contest. The center averages 14.2 points per game, second highest on the team.
Over the past five contests, Thiam has averaged 15.6 points and 15 rebounds per game while notching a double-double in every game. His top scoring and rebounding night during that stretch was an 18-point, 18-rebound performance in a loss to Belmont Abbey. He followed that game with an 18-point, 16-rebound night in a 76-67 victory over Pfeiffer.
Thiam most recently racked up 13 points, 14 rebounds and swatted six blocks in a loss to Newberry.
Mars Hill will continue conference play tonight when they host Lincoln Memorial at 8:00 p.m. The Lions carry a 3-7 overall record into the contest, and are 0-2 in conference play.
